A VOLUNTEER RUN NON-PROFIT FOR CANCER PATIENTS IN THE TOWN OF WHITECOURT
We know that a cancer diagnosis and treatment is unexpected and costly for patients and their families. Our aim is to provide timely and easily accessible funds when needed. Our funding comes from volunteer fundraising events as well as generous personal and business donations from our community.

Programs
Gas & Grocery Card Package
Every newly diagnosed client is eligible for a ONE (1) time only $500 package of gas and grocery gift cards to help with sudden expenses.
Parking Reimbursement
All parking expenses from out of town medical appointments related to cancer treatment are 100% reimbursed.
Original receipts must be submitted for payment at a minimum of every 3 months. Receipts can be mailed to:

Emergency Funds
Cash grants are available to help with sudden expenses. Assistance must be applied for specifically and will be distributed according to the funds the WC&WS has available at any given time. This may be a one time payment.
How to Access our Funding Programs
To access our funding programs (Gas/Grocery cards, Parking Reimbursement and Emergency Funding) the following criteria must be met AND a Financial Application form printed out and completed.

Once your application is received, a card package will be available to you.
Criteria
Referral can be made through your physician, the McLeod River Primary Care Network (MRPCN) as well as self referral.
- You must reside in the community of Whitecourt (including close surrounding area) and have a Whitecourt mailing address
- Your family physician must be from Whitecourt
- You must have a diagnosis of cancer and be starting or currently in treatment
- The Financial Application form must be completed and submitted for access to all programs
